Movement Challenge (Move Republic)

Corporate movement challenges work best when they have a clear goal, a fixed duration, and a social anchor. The Move Republic platform delivers exactly that – without companies having to build their own infrastructure or develop an app.

What does a 4- to 8-week challenge trigger?

There's a psychological difference between 'We offer sports programs' and 'We're running 5,000 km together this October.' The latter creates a collective goal you can position yourself against. First-time participants start cautiously – and discover they can do more than they thought. Well-communicated challenges often reach more employees than classic course offerings.

Why is the free plan a genuine entry point?

No budget, no risk: the free tier lets you launch a complete team challenge – with ranking, progress display, and daily impulses. Anyone who has good experiences with it can later expand to commercial features. The lowest-threshold path to a functioning movement culture in the company. More measures that cost little or nothing are collected in the guide WHP without a budget.

How do you put the measure in place?

  1. 1
Move Republic community must already be set up (or set it up now)
  2. 2
Create the challenge: Dashboard → "New Challenge" → set goal, timeframe, rules
  3. 3
Send the announcement: What is the goal? What can you win?
  4. 4
    The challenge runs automatically
  5. 5
Share weekly updates with the team
  6. 6
    Announce and celebrate the winner

Tax and health insurance: what is possible

Employer health benefits can be tax-free under § 3 no. 34 of the German Income Tax Act (EStG) up to €600 per employee per year — if they are provided in addition to the salary already owed and are either certified (§ 20 SGB V) or implemented within the company's health promotion process. Gym memberships and corporate fitness are not covered. For ZPP-certified courses (e.g. from Upfit), German statutory health insurers can reimburse all or part of the course fee to their insured members — then only the amount exceeding that reimbursement is tax-free. Projects within the company can be funded under § 20b SGB V, with no entitlement. Only your tax adviser can confirm the tax exemption.
